The Lamb Show has been an integral part of the Linn County Lamb
& Wool Fair since its beginning in 1935. The 2008 show, on Sunday, May 18,
is open to all youth in Oregon. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday at the Lamb Show Arena.
Bring your completed entry forms to the registration desk at the fair grounds. The
show and judging will take place beginning at 9:30 a.m. This year's sheep
judge is Kurt Burns.
Lamb Show Classes
Market Classes
Class 1 – Feeder Lamb Under 75#
Class 2 – Market Lamb Over 75#
Class 3 – Pair of lambs
Class 4 – Pen of 3 lambs
Class 5 – Twin lambs (may be 2 ewes,
2 weathers, or one of each born to
same ewe)
Market lambs in Classes 1- 5 are encouraged to be slick shorn
Class 6 – Club or Chapter Flock
Breeding Classes
Class 7 – Registered Ewe Lamb
Class 8 – Commercial Purpose Ewe Lamb
(cross-bred, meat type)
Class 9 – Pair of Lambs
Wool Type Lamb Classes
Class 10 – Wool Type Ewe Lamb
Class 11 – Pair of Lambs
Special Lamb Classes
Class 12 – A bottle-feeding
contest
Class 13 – Dress up your lamb contest
Class 14 – Pee Wee Showmanship 5 – 8
years of age
Showmanship
Class 15 – Novice (first year
showing) – regardless of age
Class 16 – Junior (showing at least 2nd
year) thru 6th grade
Class 17 – Intermediate (showing at
least 2nd year) 7th thru 9th grade
Class 18 – Senior (showing at least 2nd
year) 10th thru 12th grade
The top two from
classes 16 -18 will come back for the Champion Showmanship Round

Rules
1. Exhibitors must show
their own animals in all classes
(exhibitor may have help for the twin class and pen of three)
2. Lambs shown in Class 5 (twin market
lambs) must be shown as a pair
and raised solely by their ewe mother.
3. Market lambs may show in that class
only; ewe lambs may not be
shown in both ewe and market classes.
4. Market lambs shown in the Lamb
Show are not eligible to compete in the Jackpot Sheep Show.

Sheep in the above classes will be divided into
Prospect lamb or Market lamb
classes according to weight
Class 21 – Junior Showmanship
(exhibitors thru 6th grade)
Class 22 – Intermediate Showmanship
(exhibitors 7th - 9th grade)
Class 23 – Senior Showmanship
(exhibitors 10th grade through 21 years of age)
